The Hotel Carlton

The Hotel Carlton in Bilbao was inaugurated in January 1926. Constructed and designed by the Basque - English architect, Manuel María Smith, the Hotel Carlton was created with the firm intention of providing the City of Bilbao with a Luxury hotel. From those early years onwards, the Hotel Carlton has cleverly kept up with the times with renovations and up-dates to please even the most demanding guests. The Hotel Carlton is one of the landmark buildings and the most majestic hotel in Bilbao. Declared an Architectural, Artistic, Historical and Cultural Monument, over its history the building has witnessed some important social and cultural events.

The Hotel Carlton, part of the Aránzazu Hoteles group, is centrally located in the Plaza de Federico Moyúa square, one of the most important commercial and business areas in Bilbao. This ideal location makes the Hotel Carlton the best option for leisure and business travellers alike. Fully refurbished and constantly up-dated to offer the very latest in technology. The hotel offers 142 guestrooms on 6 floors, with a choice of room types: standard, superior, junior suite, suite and Imperial Suite. All guestrooms are noted for their spaciousness and brightness whilst each is decorated in its own individual style, ranging from traditional luxury to the most avant-garde décor. There is a free Wi-Fi service throughout the Hotel Carlton.

Amongst all its guestrooms, special mention should be made of the Imperial Suite. The size and features of this Suite make it unique in Bilbao. Located on the top floor of the Hotel Carlton, with a terrace overlooking the Federico Moyúa centrally-located square, this 250 square metre suite features two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, washroom, fitness room (equipped with steam bath), kitchen, reading room and a home cinema room.

The Hotel Carlton also offers 12 meeting rooms, located on three floors. These majestic rooms are noted for their spaciousness and high ceilings, bringing a real touch of glamour and splendour to all your events, whilst the Hotel Carlton Public Relations staff are constantly on hand to ensure the success of each function. All room offer a free Wi-Fi service. The hotel amenities include a Business centre and gym, located on the first floor of the Hotel, and which are free to guests.

The Carlton Restaurant is renowned for the variety and fine quality of its cuisine, with an extensive menu offering a varied selection of dishes including the very best traditional Basque cuisine. The "Wednesdays at the Carlton" are famous, serving Rice with Lobster. From Monday to Friday the Carlton Restaurant also offers a set menu at lunchtimes. Guests can also enjoy elaborate cocktails, to suit all tastes, served at the Bar Americano.

The Carlton Restaurant is highly acclaimed for its Wedding catering service. Its much-demanded wedding menus combined with some magical facilities are perfect for giving the bride and groom the wedding of their dreams. What's more, each part of the reception can be held in a different area: the Cristalera room (cocktails), the Imperial room (Banquet) and finally the Blue room for dancing.
